Clutching a bouquet of Forget-me-nots - the flower of true love, faithfulness, and remembrance - Magdaline/Gaia is desperately clinging to her crumbling way of life; her royal status and power are things she does not want to leave behind.
Foliage has taken over, overgrown and unkempt within and around the frame, signifying her loss of status being due to the environment around her. There is no one left to tend to the overgrown vegetation, no one to care about the state of the Gods on their planet.
Her Forget-me-nots speak of wilful ignorance to her circumstances, holding out hope for a miracle that would allow her to retain the comforts of her reign. She looks out to the viewer, eyes blind to her circumstances yet imploring the audience to remember her so she can retain some ounce of power.
